Bio

Alyssa Skelly is a Residential Advisor, Ethics and Leadership Teacher, and Admissions Assistant at SEGL. She came to the School from the Verner Center for Early Learning in Asheville, North Carolina, where she was a lead teacher at an early Head Start program. Prior to that she worked as a residential counselor at the Eliada Home in Asheville, providing residential mental health support to young people ages 12 -17. She has led several expeditions for teenagers through Rocky Mountain National Park and the mountains of British Columbia, and taught ESL in Lima, Peru, and volunteered for a youth LGBTQIA+ organization in Asheville. She is a Psi Chi graduate of James Madison University, where she majored in Psychology, served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, and volunteered for the campus assault response hotline.
