Alyssa Skelly (they/them/theirs) is an Admissions Associate, Residential Advisor, Ethics and Leadership Teacher at SEGL. Their experience includes serving as lead teacher at an early Head Start program at the Verner Center for Early Learning and providing mental health support to young people ages 12-17 as a residential counselor at the Eliada Home in Asheville, North Carolina. Alyssa has led several expeditions for teenagers through Rocky Mountain National Park and the mountains of British Columbia, taught ESL in Lima, Peru, and volunteered for a youth LGBTQ+ organization in Asheville. A Psi Chi graduate of James Madison University, they majored in Psychology, served on the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, and volunteered for the campus assault response hotline.
