Dr. Patricia Thomas is Director of Advising and Wellness and teaches Spanish and French at SEGL. She comes to SEGL after a long and distinguished career teaching and mentoring students. Among other stops, she has held administrative positions at the Duke University Talent Identification Program and taught at Trevor Day School, Teachers College, Columbia University, and Emory University. For many years she served as an academic adviser and student support specialist at the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation. More recently she has worked as a multilingual mental health counselor in Northern Virginia. She holds a BA from Wake Forest University, dual Master’s Degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University, a Master’s degree from George Washington University, and a PhD from Emory University.
