Louise Saunders is the Academic Dean, Associate Director, and Ethics and Leadership teacher at SEGL in Johannesburg. She holds a Bachelor of Music (Hons) cum laude from the University of Pretoria, a professional qualification in Project Management from the University of Pretoria, and is currently completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of South Africa. With a robust background in educational leadership and curriculum development, Louise has led several academic and extracurricular initiatives. Before joining the SEGL team, she served as the HOD of Creative Arts & Events at the African Leadership Academy (ALA), where she spearheaded the development of an Afro-centric Creative Arts program, introduced Cambridge A-level Art subjects, and expanded Arts opportunities across the ALA Network. Louise has also served as a Curriculum Leader of the Arts and Head of Music at Crawford International College, where she was instrumental in curriculum alignment and the integration of technology in teaching. Additionally, she has experience as a consultant at Deloitte, focusing on Leadership Development and Assessment. Louise's dedication to fostering academic excellence and student success is complemented by her commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment and is eager to contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of all her students. In her personal time, Louise enjoys playing and composing music, theatre, animal conservation, and outdoor activities like hiking.
