SEGL Homecoming and Fifth Annual Gala: Our Best Yet
A record number of SEGL graduates, family members, and friends joined us last weekend for a wonderful Homecoming and Gala celebration. The weekend included a Saturday morning session with top Hillary Clinton and White House speechwriters Lissa Muscatine and Megan Rooney, graduate reunions, our traditional fishbowl discussion featuring leading Chinese dissident Harry Wu, a social venture “science fair,” and our Gala at the National Press Club featuring Golden Mug Award winner Lissa Muscatine (who was introduced by SEGL Director Noah Bopp and graduate Ellie Dougherty).
At our Sunday morning State of the School discussion, SEGL Director Noah Bopp revealed our Summer 2014 international trips: we will return to South Africa and for the first time travel to China!
We also raised a record amount of funding, which this year will support our one-year, $600,000 William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust challenge grant for endowed scholarships. Additional gifts are still coming in.
Thanks to all who attended and see you next year!
